HOURLY REQUIREMENTS FOR VETERINARIANS*
30 hours every 2 years
30 hours may be obtained via non-interactive online pertaining to a temporary change in classification due to the COVID-19 pandemic. CE Update Link
HOURLY REQUIREMENTS FOR VETERINARY TECHNICIANS
10 hours every 2 years
10 hours may be obtained online via non-interactive online pertaining to a temporary change in classification due to the COVID-19 pandemic. CE Update Link
SPECIFIC REQUIRED COURSES
Controlled Substances- 2 hours required for DEA License * No more than eight (8) hours may be taken in practice management or practice building; The remaining twenty-two (22) hours must be in clinical medical courses which include the required controlled substances CE. CE Requirements Link
*S.C. Code of Law §40-69-255: if a veterinarian authorized pursuant to state and federal law to prescribe controlled substances (DEA Registration), the licensee must complete at least two hours of continuing education every two years related to approved procedures of prescribing and monitoring controlled substances listed in Schedules II, III, and IV of the schedules provided for in Sections 44-53-210, 44-53-230, and 44-53-250.
