MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Dr. Roasa has earned his veterinary and Master’s degrees from Texas A&M University and his law degree from the University of Nebraska. He has worked for Banfield in Phoenix and has owned and operated a mixed animal practice in the mountains of Colorado. He has co-founded and co-owns a group of practices in Nebraska, operates a law practice and delivers on-line CE via drip.vet. He is the past president of the American Veterinary Medical Law Association and a national co-advisor to the Veterinary Business Management Association. He serves on the board of directors of the Mark Morris Institute and on the advisory board to Veterinary Team Brief.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This Veterinary Law & Ethics online course provides an in-depth study of veterinary legal and ethical matters. Using real world examples, it educates veterinarians, technicians and practice managers while fulfilling State Board mandated disciplinary continuing education.

COURSE FEATURES

This online course with tracking of attendance is delivered in eight sections, available as a twenty-hour course or in multi-section modules. It is accessible 24/7 to accommodate the busiest of schedules with a section format that can be tailored to fit individual needs. As a bonus, learners that enroll in the full course receive copies of the books Law and Ethics of the Veterinary Profession and Legal Consents for Veterinary Practices 5th Edition (a $180 value) free of charge.

Estimated Time To Complete

20 hours of total contact time if enrolled in the full course.  Variable contact hours if enrolled in multi-section modules.

NOTE: A contact hour is a measure that represents an hour of scheduled instruction given to students. A semester credit hour is normally granted for satisfactory completion of one 50-minute session (contact hour) of classroom instruction per week for a semester of not less than fifteen weeks.

This Course Is Intended For

This course is intended for veterinarians, veterinary technicians and practice managers with an interest in all facets of veterinary law and ethics. It is also applicable for licensees that are required by their State Board to complete continuing education on the topic of law and ethics.
